I’ve finally been made to feel guilty for promoting what I do for a living to new acquaintances.
It’s happened several times recently, just talking to someone new at church or a business meeting. The question always comes up, “So what do you do for a living.”
I used to say, “I’m a private mortgage lender,” avoiding the long explanation.
But, on occasion, when pressed, I’d explain it, and if their eyes didn’t glaze over, they’d sometimes ask, “Why haven’t I heard of this before?”
“Well, who’s going to tell you? Most financial planners, brokers, etc don’t get paid to tell you about investing in real estate notes.”
